Growing up in northeast Tennessee and attending East Tennessee State University, I could have never imagined back then that today I would have such a love for the coastal lifestyle found on the Treasure Coast of south Florida.
In 1988 I attended ETSU on a volleyball scholarship and graduated in '94 with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. That is also when I met my future husband, Lonnie, who was coaching football after his own collegiate football career at North Alabama. He obtained his Masters in Athletic Administration.
In 1994, we moved to Hilton Head Island, SC where Lonnie pursued a new venture in the golf industry. As a PGA professional, he had the privilege of working for one of the best golf destinations in the country--Sea Pines Plantation and more specifically, Harbour Town Golf Links. As fate would have it, Lonnie accepted a position with the developer of Belfair Golf Club and we were both introduced to the concept of exclusive master planned communities and have held a fondness for that special real estate niche ever since.
During our time in Hilton Head, I began my real estate career and quickly realized how much I enjoyed assisting families with very important lifestyle decisions. Lonnie and I discovered we could combine our skills to satisfy both developers and customers while still enjoying the lifestyle we love.
Since that time we have had the opportunity to work for other private community developers in the southeast and in 2001 were recruited to specifically open the exclusive club community, Tesoro, in Port St.Lucie,FL, with my focus to be on real estate sales and Lonnie's as the Director of Golf. We immediately moved from New Bern, NC to the Treasure Coast with our daughter Avary and quickly fell in love with the lifestyle offered here.
My family loves coastal living, the sunny weather, boating with our friends, playing on the beach, all of the wonderful amenities concentrated in one area. But most of all we love the laid back lifestyle that the Treasure Coast affords us with quick and easy access to all that south Florida has to offer. We have also discovered what the ideal world is, as many of you already have, a place here in south Florida in the winter as well as a mountain home for the summer months. Each year we are drawn back to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Blowing Rock, NC for our family vacation. We are quickly establishing this as a tradition for us and we look forward to our return every year. Horseback riding and hiking at Moses Cone Park, evenings at the playground after visiting Kilwin's on Main Street, these are just a few of our most fondest memories each summer.
After 8 years at Tesoro, with over $50 million in sales, I decided it was time to take control of the reins and obtain my broker's license and open my own real estate company. Today my focus is on representing both buyers and sellers in their quest to either purchase or sell their homes or land in exclusive club lifestyle communities throughout the southeastern United States and Bahamas. I have developed the skills necessary over the past 16 years to successfully assist my customers, on both ends of the spectrum, through thorough communication, contact and loyalty and will continue to develop successful relationships and friendships for years to come.
